I could probably print it but will need someone to try it on a falcon, only got an STE and Mega here.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

Re: 3D models of ST parts
We can give it a go.. I guess if the dimensions can be printed on paper I can check on my MB here.. Will start a new thread on it later..sandord wrote: 27 Aug 2018 11:03 As long as those dimensions are measured meticulously (0.1mm precision), we should be fine. As holes tend to be sloped on the surface, it's best to measure both the inside and the outside diameter.
It's just hard to verify measurement correctness without any actual hardware. I'm fine with trying, just someone else has to print it and verify it, possibly sending feedback for a revision.

I think just STL would be fine.

No not just STL! Terrible to import and fork from if someone wants to make changes. I'd vote for IGS* as well.
Regarding Falcon CF-adapter bracket. I have one and can take measurements (with proper measurement tools). At some point. My precious retro time has a lot of things I'm trying to work on at the same time.

I only ever heard of/saw STP STL files.. Will add them anyway, don't know what formats cura takes even.

Re: 3D models of ST parts
Cura takes STL, but it's not a 3D object format, rather a printing format. So if I want to import a model into CAD software to make an edit STL is no good (the CAD program will have to recreate models from surfaces - horrible). IGS is a proper interchangeable 3D object format for CAD.exxos wrote: 27 Aug 2018 12:31 I only ever heard of/saw STP STL files.. Will add them anyway, don't know what formats cura takes even.

Re: 3D models of ST parts
Has anyone looked at printing and I know its a large part the MegaSTE / TT HDD drive lid.
One of my main reasons for wanting this part is to have slots in the front of it for the SD cards (internal Gigafile / UltraSatan) and USB ports (Lightning VME USB) and not damage the original.
