Hi Atari Family...

Finally got my Atari STf again and modded as I did back in the day..

Using ACSI2STM and trying to get up and running..
Having a hard time, I have libraries in .st formats for Goteck ...
Could someone PLEASE reply with a link to a pre-build bootable ICD(?) HD image (.img) with a library of .prg on it?

I only know of the Atari Games Adapted HD images. They work on my ACSI2STM. They are not free of charge, you have to send Peter a message.

The problem you're going to hit is that not many people use ICD anymore as there are better drivers such as HDDRIVER and PPeras driver.

Both of these are paid for drivers so people are not just going to give them away in images. The advantage of these drivers is that they can also allow drives to be read in Windows and that means you can copy files directly.

My usual suggestion is to set up Hatari with your image as a disk drive and also add a folder as a GEMDOS drive and use that as the means to transfer files to the image.

Didn't Peter used to have a free image that was about 500mb available to download? I don't see it anymore. I know that I downloaded it a few years ago.

I think you're right about that, but I think it may have been restricted in some way, I can't recall.

I might be wrong, but doesn't the ACSI2STM support a GEMDOS mode so you can just mount an SD card directly? I think this says you can: GEMDOS

I've been playing with the ACSI2STM a fair bit lately. It is quirky. I use ICD pro with it and its mostly usable. There really is a hundred ways to skin the HD cat here. There are a few methods you can use

1, format FAT and drop whatever you want to the disk. It works pretty well and you can move files easily between the Atari and Windoze.

2, create an ACS2STM directory on a FAT formatted card and dump the image straight in. It gets mounted as a GEMDOS disk and doesn't waste space.

3, image an available image to your SD card. Limitation is here, you mostly won't fill the disk.

4, Leave the SD Card RAW and set it up as a GEMDOS disk. If its RAW the ACSI2STM will treat it as an Atari hard drive. But, I could not get it to partition with ICD pro, Hddriver partitions fine though but doesn't seem to want to boot in any slot bar the left one. ICD Pro doesn't have that issue. Might just be the older version I have though.

Here is the process I use. I documented it for a couple of people to get started.

ACSI2STM TOS Partitioning guidelines (assuming some knowledge of TOS, FAT, Windows, GEM, HDDriver and ICD Pro utils)

Notes:
It is generally better to use a 1 - 4 GB SD card to boot because you only use drive letters C to K (9 partitions). L is reserved for FAT disks as will be discussed later.
TOS 1.00 - 1.02 partitions up to 256 MB (2.3 GB SD) use 2GB with 8 partitions.
TOS 1.04 - 3.06 partitions up to 512 MB (4.6 GB SD) use 4GB with 8 partitions.
TOS 4.0x partitions up to 1 GB – Not compatible with ACSI2STM.

Process:
SD card must be RAW. Use diskpart – clean to remove existing partitions.

Place SD Card in left slot (viewed from the front of the ST)

Boot HDDriver, perform desired partitioning. This must be TOS partitioning, not Windows compatible.

Once partitioned shut down and move to the right slot.

Boot ICD Pro 6.5.5 and install boot loader on to SD card drive C.

Reset ST. Install icons, save desktop etc and enjoy. Now the disk should boot using ICD tools. Any FAT formatted disk should work in the left slot and is hot swappable as drive L. If it shits itself and locks up in the left slot your SD card isn’t formatted properly. TOS, ext or NTFS etc.
