Sillyventure 2024 - Winter Edition - Gdansk - Poland

Hi everyone,

@CiH and myself have travelled to many of these particular Atari demoparties over in Poland, and we'd love for some of you to join us there. The Polish Atari scene are very welcoming and love to see what we've achieved over the years.

The upcoming event is in December, running from the 5th to the 8th (Thursday - Sunday). Things usually tend to get going on the Friday, but don't let that put you off arriving earlier.

The head organizer is Grey / Mystic Bytes. They've released various demos and other stuff on ST and Falcon over the years & also on Atari 8-bit, but within different groups. There's a good timetable which includes competitions on all Atari formats.

Budget flights to Gdansk are possible, largely going from Luton & also Gatwick, with Wizzair, who, despite reports to the contrary, are good when it comes to flights to central Europe, including Poland. We fly from Luton as that's our closest airport to us in Cambridge & Northampton. Booking up early does, of course, mean that the flights are a bit cheaper.

We'll be staying at the Marina Club hotel, which feels like luxury but is actually budget-friendly. Decent size rooms, great and friendly staff and a good breakfast is a big help there. The party location this time is at the Gdansk Philharmonia, which is very close to the hotel.

Gdansk is a wonderful city to visit too, so consider bringing your partners & family. English is quite widely spoken as a second language; bearing in mind the city's history from over recent decades, I reckon you'd all enjoy it there. Plus, it's a bit of a Christmas event with a good difference.
