An external keyboard adapter for the Atari STBook.

Post by AndresPlazaR »

Hello!

I have been playing with my Atari STBook, and decided to create an adapter, for the external keyboard port of it, to connect a USB mouse.

My first step was to create an adapter to connect an external STE keyboard. I received the boards a few days ago, and it works! :D

Here you can see a video of it working: https://youtu.be/6yGvbHGwF1g

My next step will be to integrate a Raspberry Pi Pico, so I can connect the USB mouse directly.

Cool, ah? ;)

Andres.

Wow, that's cool. What the connector to the ST Book, it looks like a mini edge connector, is that just for a keyboard only?

The connector in the STBook is, most probably, a proprietary one, because I have not been able to find it. But looking at it, just an edge connector made with a PCB works fine.

Using this adapter, you can connect a STE keyboard; if you connect the mouse to the keyboard, then you can also use the mouse.
