I made up a little power adapter for the Master-41 drive, it uses the exact same PSU as the 154 & 1581, but the DIN connector is slightly different (although curiously it's the same on some models?).

Anyway, this just means I can have one less PSU as I never use these at the same time.

I've wanted an Amiga 1200 for quite some time.

I 'binned' my original 1200 that I had from new somewhere around 2002 when the PSU died

Anyway, prices seem to be ridiculous recently so I've been on the lookout for a bargain.

And thinking out of the box, literally, I snagged a fully working revision 1D4 motherboard (with shields) for just under 200 pounds.

Expensive for what it is, but less than half what full machines are going for! It's also exceptionally clean, 2 of the caps look to have some minor electrolyte leakage - but I have a set of panasonic replacements to recap the board with so not worried there,

I also got a full case with screws for 45 pounds.

I have a spare floppy drive here, and also I have a working A500 whose keyboard I upgraded with a hard membrane one. This is the key to this project being on the cheap, because this membrane also works with the A1200 which uses a different keyboard connector.

All I would need to do to use this KB is disconnect the A500 kb controller daughter PCB, and dremel the keyboard backing plate to allow the A1200 ribbon to exit in the correct location... (I'll keep an eye out for a cheap replacement for the 500 too)

And it works a charm!

Next up will be the recap (won't post here as it's covered very well elsewhere - will be using chipquik and hot air.

Then I need to decide about whether to go pistorm, or TF. If the latter it will be a 1230 as I don't need ridiculous horsepower.

I finally got a case 3D printed for my 1581..

Now have a full stack of retro floppy power!

Top to bottom:
1581 - PC 3.5" drive with adapter and toms 1581 board - JiffyDos equipped
Master41 (Oceanic OC118 clone) with parallel mod & Speed DOS
1571 - with JiffyDos
1541 - with MeGaLoDOS, multifunction parallel speeder.

The 1581 works a charm on a plus/4 that I pick up a couple of weeks back, got it for 40 quid listed as not working, all it needed was the keyboard contacts cleaning.

The C64 Breadbin & A1200 don't make a very good stand for it :D

Not posted in a wee while....

Built myself an Amiga 2000EATX after securing a huge haul of Commodore gear for 200 quid, it included 2 500+'s one of which is the chip donor.

Not quite done yet, video slot, co-pro slot, zorro slots & game ports to be soldered on, but she's showing signs of life over serial... just waiting on a video cable so I can test more thoroughly.
