Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Liking the Yamaha MSX computer & keyboard @PhilC !

These two drives are that well built they would be the only other thing still working after a nuclear war.

I've actually got two of the MSX's, just need to get round to testing the second one.

P.s. The beeb drives I have were too low

If only funds would allow me to take that off your hands...but alas it's not an option ATM
:sigh:

I think I have some Cumana side-by-side drives (or did have) but the vertical ones are suitably robust & high...plus I have some Torch Z80 disc pack (the ones that act as a monitor stand and go over the Beeb) at my Mums house (possibly in the garage acting as accommodation to numerous spiders...)

@PhilC Nice to see you still mucking about.

I like the picture of the drives supporting the monitor shelf!

Seems like those Sega machines have pride of place.

I dont know if you are aware, but theres a new (and more importantly) cheap SD card game solution for the Saturn, the Saroo:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006 ... pt=glo2bra

Much cheaper than the Satiator, so I will be getting hold of one at some point.

@mrbombermillzy can't be too serious at the mo if you know what I mean.

I've got a Fenrir for my Saturn, so all good SD wise but as you say, not a cheap option and the Saturn is definitely where it needs to be being my fave bit of retro gear.

@JezC I've got a good 6 or 7 been drives and a few QL ones that I really do need to sort out and sell on eBay at some point. I'll post a pic of the MSX working when I get a chance. Was going to bring it to CL3. Maybe CL4 instead then?

I need the time to sort my stuff out too @PhilC - and probably sell some of it (for the sake of marital harmony if nothing else ;))

I'm still intending to be at CL3...I might be dropping my daughter off at a university open day en route but I'll fully understand if you aren't able to attend/demo any kit this year!

Plus I think I still owe @exxos a couple more ST motherboards to pay for the brace of A500s I took off his hands at CL2...but now I have both working, I probably should sell one of them and work on repairing the other A500 & A500+ that I have....

Afternoon All,

I just wanted to post a quick explanation of the For Sale / Downsizing topics that I'm posting over the next few days.

So as some of you will know I have Cancer but don't worry, I'm not expecting to be going anywhere in a hurry and this is certainly not a begging letter for money or anything similar. Having Cancer does however put certain things like possessions, time and money in to perspective. So I decided that should the worst happen and some day I pop my clogs or other similar phrases, that the wife would benefit from me having a smaller retro collection and more money in the bank to tide her over in her retirement. Let's face it, whose wife knows how much an MTX512 is worth? Mine won't even know what one looks like.

So, the long and the short of it is I don't need to get rid of a thing (yet) but thought it might be a good thing to downsize and keep just the stuff I really really want and like to use. I.E. I really don't need 6 C64s and 4 C128s lets be honest

Well, there are people trying to sell them on eBay who don't know how much they're really worth. :-)

Hint: Even after appearing on RMC a few times it's about half or less of what they're asking.
