Hello
I have a problem with ultra satan: when I reset STE with the button I can only access the partitions A B C, the others are there (with utils) but when I click on them nothing happens.
If I turn the computer off and on again, then it's good....
I don't know if i have the case before the installation of the booster and the fixes.
i do :
P100= 1,2k
P101, 102, 103, 104 =2,2k
P104 stay at 10K
DMA Pull up on databus.
Any idea ?
Can all registered uses please login, even just for a few minutes..
It helps build a picture where our "good traffic" is coming from..
Thanks :)

Have you looked at the reset circuit capacitor fix?gigi92 wrote: Mon Jul 22, 2024 3:53 pm Hello

If you fix the booster to 8Mhz it should behave as per a normal STE.

Re: BOOSTER AND ULTRASATAN ISSUES
You need to verify if your machine works without the booster first...
I released a patch board recently for the STE booster relating to hard drive issues in fact..
But also the motherboard bus pullup resistors should be the default values when fitted with the booster, otherwise you could introduce new DMA issues. The pullups are on the booster board already..

Re: BOOSTER AND ULTRASATAN ISSUES
This might not actually be the case anymore unfortunately, as my recent investigation found that even 8Mhz mode can still cause DMA issues.rubber_jonnie wrote: Mon Jul 22, 2024 3:58 pm If you fix the booster to 8Mhz it should behave as per a normal STE.

But that fix *only* applies if people have issues *only* when the booster is fitted.
Re: BOOSTER AND ULTRASATAN ISSUES
Yes I made a fix for the reset because when I got the machine it didn't start at the on/off button, i must to press the reset for to start it.
I didn't push the tests too much when it's stock but I hadn't noticed anything about this problem.
I only saw afterwards that it was not necessary to change the original sils for 2,2 k with a booster.
The problem also exists in 8mhz.
Taking out the booster and changing the sil again doesn't appeal to me too much...
It show partition .... "just" path not found.....
Otherwise it works great...

Re: BOOSTER AND ULTRASATAN ISSUES
hello , i have news => it's only happens when a floppy disk is inserted into the A drive at the reset ...

NB: exxos i read all your page "The Atari STE "BAD DMA" dilemma" what works !

Re: BOOSTER AND ULTRASATAN ISSUES
That sounds like a power draw issue -> drive spins up, draw on the 12 (and maybe 5?)V line.gigi92 wrote: Tue Jul 23, 2024 8:34 pm hello , i have news => it's only happens when a floppy disk is inserted into the A drive at the reset ...![]()

How are you powering the Ultrasatan?

If i have not floppy on drive when i reset it's OK and i can use floppy on GEM.
Bug only when i have floppy on drive at reset, working with floppy on drive when i swith off/on
exxos i will try to put pullup resistors like origin, with one 4,7K or 10k ? (4,7k on my board)exxos wrote: Mon Jul 22, 2024 3:59 pm But also the motherboard bus pullup resistors should be the default values when fitted with the booster, otherwise you could introduce new DMA issues. Re: BOOSTER AND ULTRASATAN ISSUES
I would just remove them first and see if it changes anything before thinking about putting sils back in.
