The unit looks gorgeous !

BTW, the only 2 IT guys at my workplace were kindly laid off last month and a private company is now taking care of the IT.

The main goal was to save money, but the hiccup is that this new company costs twice more than the 2 sacked guys...

Amen to that, I can't be the only person in IT who notices the department runs so much smoother when the managers are off....

Is that restricted to IT departments alone? I think not...and that is speaking as an engineer turned manager!
So, I try to leave the team to do their work while I deflect as many interruptions/senior management as I can ...

I have to be careful what I say in public. All I can say that they've chosen to get rid of us JUST before the busiest time of the year when the most people rely upon IT support. Given the policies, they will not be able to get anyone in post for 5 months and the person-power will be more than halved with no in-depth knowledge of the complex, multi-platform and interdependent systems.

I don't see this going well.
