Hatari disk image on BlueSCSI ver 2

I was told it is possible to make a hard drive image for BlueSCSI using Hatari. Can anyone point me to instructions on how to do this?

Just copy your Hatari disk image to the SD card and name it as per the guide above.

Rather than re-write a ton of information, I'd suggest you have a look here: Useful Hatari HDD info

If you have a Mac or Linux machine, there is no reason why you can't use DD to create a blank image that will work, which is what I did, the instructions can be found here: BlueSCSI images.

Whatever you do, you will still need to install either HDDRIVER or PPeras driver once inside Hatari with the image mounted. There are other drivers, such as ICD Pro, but it is old and has some caveats.

If you want to transfer files via Hatari then you also need to set up a GEMDOS drive, which is just an OS folder that behaves as a drive and bridges between your OS and Hatari.

I was under the impression it did but you had to specify you wanted a SCSI version, I specified IDE when I got his driver and not ACSI, but it is possible, you'd need to check with him.

Personally I prefer HDDRIVER as though it costs a lot more it has a much wider device support.

I don't have SCSI driver for Falcon. There was no interest for it, and things are now that SCSI drives are very old, and majority of them is dead. I have here 4 SCSI drives, which I bought around 2008-2011, capacities from 2 GB to 18 GB. None of them is functional now, and I really did not use them much. They were for SW development and diverse tests.
So, better would be to fix that IDE bus problem in Falcon. As I maybe wrote, IDE in Falcon is faster than SCSI .
And of course, should check IDE-CF adapter - maybe that's the problem. And maybe CF card is problem - as I remember I wrote that only SanDisk cards work well with Falcon (and it stays for lot of other oldies) - the reason is bus timing, and only SanDisk is good with that . Surely some little older ones like Extreme, Ultra 4-16 GB. Very new ones may be not good with oldies.

That is an excellent idea, thank you!

My adapter cable has been shipped from Germany today so looking forward to trying this out. Will copy all the files I need to the image and then will be able to copy them to my IDE CF drive in the falcon.

Looks like the cable will be delivered tomorrow so between meeting I hope to be able to:

Make an image with dd on either Mac or Linux
Add this image to hatari
Install HDriver on this image in Hatari
Add a Gemdos drive and use this to copy files to
Copy image to SD card
Connect the bluescsi to the Falcon
Boot from IDE as usual and see if HDriver picks up the SCSI drive, I know SCSI works on my Falcon as I can use my Jazz drive

Probably missing loads of steps an misunderstood stuff but looking forward to playing!

And after that is sorted - dynaport stuff which is the main thing I’m interested in.
