ULTRA sound!
(crappy phone audio turns into recording of Ravens line-out after a little bit)
That card was a right b*tch to get going..
I'll turn that console application into a proper Jam plugin next.
Slightly tempted in repeating the process for AWE32/64 cards too because apparently I like this sort of pain.

Re: Raven. A homemade Atari-like computer
When I read the Phenix page I get the idea that he was aiming very high, so high his ambitions killed the project (not OS Devs as he says) I don't think, looking at the specs, that the Phenix was going to be anything like an original Atari, he was aiming towards an extremely capable (for 1999/2000) m68k future computer. That's shown by the fact that he wanted a custom Linux OS for it to take advantage of all its features, but then it wouldn't have been very Atari any more. I like @agranlund 's Raven more because it doesn't bite off more than it needs, it uses the technology we have support for, and anything more he seems to get working in EnuTOS with madskillz.

Re: Raven. A homemade Atari-like computer
While I cannot conclusively say this happened, it is more of a rumour, Czuba actually sold that board originally as he gave up with the project, but a few years back found it on evil bay and purchased it back. I believe he was working with the Apollo team for a short time. But as nothing came of that project, I think they ultimately fell out. But again I cannot even state if any of this actually happened. But there was something been developed in secret, who or what remains somewhat speculative. I believe very few people knew about it. Maybe someone else knows some of the details.. But it doesn't really matter anymore anyway.Steve wrote: 27 May 2024 09:58 When I read the Phenix page I get the idea that he was aiming very high, so high his ambitions killed the project (not OS Devs as he says) I don't think, looking at the specs, that the Phenix was going to be anything like an original Atari,

Wow! That thing looked serious. Dual-68060, PCI and all that fancy stuff.
Such a cool computer if it had ended up being produced.
I feel like my machine is a bit of a Fiat next to that Ferrari, but that's ok, I love it anyway :)

I'd call it an Aston Martin, mate. Not Fiat. Single greatest Atari since the Falcon from what I can see.
