Re: ICD AdSCSI Micro interface remake progress
Hi,
Thank you for info :) In manual I found information that device ID must be choosen from 0 to 3. It is possible that one additional bit borrowed from scsi id gives no 1GB limit.

Re: ICD AdSCSI Micro interface remake progress
That's not how ICD extensions work. ICD extensions start with a special command that is normally not used, and then following a full SCSI command sequence.tOriman wrote: 20 Jan 2023 12:11 It is possible that one additional bit borrowed from scsi id gives no 1GB limit.

Hi,
I remember that Peter Putnik made some fix MegaSTe internal interface for disks bigger than 1GB borrowing one bit from ACSI ID. I know that ICD extension uses special command but I don't need to know about because I am not a programmer ;)
Anyway - sure. It should work and it seems to be a good interface for SCSI2SD or BlueSCSI. It is small.

Re: ICD AdSCSI Micro interface remake progress
Ok, so this is the device I found after being in the other thread.
I wanted to ask.. could the design be easily modified so instead of a internal ribbon design we go with external DB25s - both for the ASCI and SCSI - the db 25 for ASCI gets cut - like in other projects finding a db19 is very difficult, but you can cut a 25 to work on the 19 female on the computer. This would allow a direct connection to an external bluescsi or piscsi to use on a STFM or STE etc..
https://itead.cc/product/scsi2-50pin-to ... 5-adapter/ - basically elimating this and a allowing direct connection to the computer.
bluescsi and piscsi use female connectors, so ea on this device would be male - allows direct plug into the computer and the piscsi plug into it. could be powered by usb and put in a case. I am not good with cad software etc.. otherwise I would just do it myself.
Thanks
James

Alan H.'s Mega STe/STacy internal adapter has no 1 gig limit and neither does Lotharek's Mega STe/STacy internal adapter fortOriman wrote: 20 Jan 2023 21:56 Hi,

Getting a bit OT, but, SCSI isn't really worth the effort when you can use ACSI2STM internally on a MegaSTE.

I did get my old AdSCSI Micro working on my MegaST2, works a treat. It is a great little solution.

That's nice but I much prefer a 2 SD-card solution via the internal Ultrasatan with external slots from a 3D print
replacement hard drive bay cover on the Mega STe. That's just me.
Looking at the topic, you're right though - I'll fade into the background once more... :)

LOL. There are a ton of storage options these days, I'm amazed by the reverse engineering and development of new kit these days. Engineering teams struggled to match what blokes in their garages are knocking out today. All very much appreciated too.
BTW, that ACSI2STM could be reengineered to support dual SD. ;-)

Actually I think my pcb for ASCI2STM can do 4 sdcard slots on it. :)atari030 wrote: 22 Mar 2024 00:51 LOL.
