Boots up fine and reads both Audio and DVD discs no problem. Have ordered a game on ebay so I can check it out and I'll start looking at the OPL load stuff that @Higgy mentioned.

I can only assume the seller, who said it didn't power up, didn't test with the correct PSU, or didn't even test...

i still can't get over just how tiny the damn thing is, seem like Sony went from building tiny little neat consoles, to then saying "This PS3 we're doing next, shall we just make it mahoosive and see what happens?"

I think the PSU in my PS3 phat is the same size as the PS2 Slim!

Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

And it only bloody worked straight out of the box!!

So I now own a PS1, PS2 Slim, PS3 (x2) and PS4 (x3 though 2 are not working).

Will I get a PS5...

Not just yet, I have my Xbox Series X to play with :)
