Looks incredibubble. Looking forward to seeing the build log.

Re: LarryL’s blog - creating an ATX version of the Phoenix H5
Thanks for the good wishes, guys :D
Will take some time
Wait - ready!
Just kidding
Nothing soldered, yet
Just tested placements
Before I will solder anything, I have to do some extensive measurements
Esp. the ports and headers - my brain got twisted by the different pinouts during design phase…

Might have been the odd thing here and there also :lol:PhilC wrote: 11 Mar 2024 22:08 I remember those alpha days ,,@exxos, are you sure it was just the ports?

Re: LarryL’s blog - creating an ATX version of the Phoenix H5
Ok…
Did some measurements during last days
The only major fails are the two Mini-DIN for mouse and keyboard, where I have the wrong footprint.
The rest of the port pinouts seem to be OK
The rest is mostly cosmetic - although some jacks should really be moved a few millimeters to align better with PCB edge and with each other
So I will dare to start assembly.
Lots of SMT logic chips will come first - will be a task for the rainy Sunday
Then the THT - maybe not before the next weekend
Will keep you updated
Cheers
Michael

Re: LarryL’s blog - creating an ATX version of the Phoenix H5
WTF...
another wrong footprint
Video DAC should be PQFP44 with 10x10mm 0.8mm pitch - according to KiCAD library (all QFP44 have these dimensions in KiCAD)
But this beast is 14x14mm with 1mm pitch :o :?
...of course this was the last SMT chip I tried to solder to the prototype board (and not the first one)
That'll be fun while testing...
luckily I have a RGB2HDMI header
...or I will use 44 bodge wires

Let’s see …
I have read somewhere, that a PCB without some bodge wires is not existing in reality ;-)

We all been there   pretty much every lib in Eagle is wrong :roll:LarryL wrote: 19 Mar 2024 11:08 WTF...another wrong footprint  Video DAC should be PQFP44 with 10x10mm 0.8mm pitch - according to KiCAD library (all QFP44 have these dimensions in KiCAD)
First runs always need a bodge wire. If something is perfect first time, then it's witchcraft, and such a freak of nature, must be burnt at the stake ! :fire: :fire:LarryL wrote: 19 Mar 2024 12:03 I have read somewhere, that a PCB without some bodge wires is not existing in reality ;-)
