You said this before and I said you don't need the server you need the client.

Glad you've got something that works.
I've tried both server and client and neither work, hence the shift to try NFS instead.

It was the client, Lanman98 on the A5000 that was failing.

Glad I got a solution too, it was driving me batty :pullhair:

Well, the networking fun and games was worth it, I backed up the A5000 to my NFS share with no problem over the weekend. I might have to back up the BlueSCSI image too just to be sure it's all good.

Need to start finding more useful apps for it now and actually have some fun with it :)

Well, another little bonus, I can now connect to NFS shares hosted on the A5000 using Moonfish as well :) So I can connect to NFS shares in both directions now.

This is two NFS shares hosted on the A5000 connected to by a Centos VM - NFS & Games:

For some reason I can't connect on my Mac or Windows machines at the moment, which is annoying, but the fact is works on the VM is a good start.

Certainly is. Just installing Centos on a spare laptop to see if it handles it nicely too.

@rubber_jonnie what did you use to interface the coax to RJ45? I’ve got an old Mac LC network card with a coax connection and wanted to see if I could get it to work.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

The NIC for the A5000 had coax and AUI so I got an AUI To RJ45 adapter and ignored the coax.

If you only have coax then you need some sort of coax to RJ45 adapter, or perhaps a switch/hub with a coax connector.
