Joystick cable installed and 9 pin D socket installed in one of the convenient holes made by Apple :)

The other end plugs into the conveniently labelled 'Game I/O' DIP socket on the mainboard.

Are you going to make up the 9 pin to PC joystick port adapter so that you can use PC joysticks?
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

At the moment I have an Apple joystick on the way and I don't have any PC joysticks, so probably not right at the moment, though it looks relatively simple to do.

I used to have a few PC sticks, including a nice Gravis one, but they all eventually got replaced with USB sticks, so all I have are retro 9 pin sticks.

I do have a Toshiba analog stick, but I'd need to check the wiring before trying, so I'll likely just wait on the other one to arrive.

Looks like I may have to build the DB15-DB9 adapter. The joystick I bought from eBay was labelled as DB9 on the auction, but there were no pics of the plug, so I trusted the seller.

Sadly it turned out to be DB15.

I contacted the seller who has offered a partial refund to cover the costs of sorting an adapter out, so that is something I suppose.

Well, the DB9 to DB15 joystick adapter arrived yesterday, so I have this stick (Very good condition for sure, looks and feels great):

Hooked up to the port at the back:

And the joystick works a treat :)

I might see if I can build my own joystick based on the apple schematics for the 9 pin port, just for fun :)
