Just tried it. No joy.

I might investigate P Putniks drivers next. Otherwise I might have to try and upgrade the RAM in my C103175 STFM and give it the gift of HD :D

That's a good idea. I'll try that soon. Cheaper than the drivers :)

With the help of chronicthehedgehog, there is a new firmware for the HDC. Download at www.bbansolutions.co.uk

To install:
You will need to connect the HDC to a PC via USB

press and hold the small black reset button followed by pressing and holding the white button
release the black reset button, then release the white button
Your PC should auto mount the HDC and display a folder/drive on your PC - likely named RPI-RP2

unzip the downloaded file - should have a .uf2 file
drag this file to the mounted folder/drive

If successful the mounted folder/drive will auto dismount and you should see the HDC green LED turn on - then good to go

I brought one back and it doesn't behave like my test one.

On first power up I get 4 bombs. Then I reset and it boots fine.

Then I tried to copy files and right away came up "data on the disk in drive may be damaged".

Swapped my SD card from my test board and that bombs just after the HD11 first 2 lines of text.

So I don't know what's changed since my testing on my more "prototype" board :(

@dad664npc is it possible to dump a firmware from the pico as I don't know what version is in my older board, I would like to dump the same firmware on the newerboard to rule it out as a issue.

I tried both firmware on your site and same problem with both. I am using a stock STE with TOS206 with "Good DMA". My older board still boots fine. So no idea what's changed ?

you have the firmware in your PMs somewhere.
To see what version of firmware you are running, connect the HDC to your PC via the USB connector.Connect terminal software to the comm port - select a high baud rate >= 115200
press the HDC reset button to see if you have good comms. You should see a sign-on message which will show you version etc.
