Got tooth trouble so may disappear for a short while. Hoping it isn't too bad when the numbing wears off.
I hope your tooth is feeling better! Here's an old home remedy that may provide temporary relief: place a clove next to the tooth and leave it there. Of course you wouldn't want to fall asleep that way, lest you accidentally swallow, and I hope you find a good, affordable dentist you trust.
Beneath your Escape key, what is the purpose for the symbol that looks like a sideways "L", or a Tetris tile?

At that price you might want to consider making a short trip abroad for a dentist; quicker, better service and much cheaper. They usually speak better English than the ones in the UK also.
I know somebody who had a dental implant privately and it was about £2000, so that £1200 seems more like private than NHS.

Sounds more like a crown type of job ? If it's a back one, have the bugger pulled out and don't bother.
If it's a broken tooth in need of a crown, make sure it doesn't get infected while you're shopping around! Rinse with hydrogen peroxide, rinse with water, and pack with coarse-grain salt. Let the salt do its work a while, then rinse it out with cold water.
If you've got a hole from a lost filling or broken tooth, chew up some pure mastic gum (Pistacia lentiscus) and pack it into the hole until you can get some professional help :)
Either that, or find an Atari hacker with a Dremel & Milliput to refurbish your chompers.

They can save it. It's been patched for now. I only went in for a check up. was grateful they did what they did.
