Is there a startup sequence for the ST somewhere ? I saw on TF channel he was running assembly output in real time from the CPU, wasn't perfect, but saw it access the pallette register early on... so assume it sets the screen all white at some early point...
Mostly black screen is bad, but white screen means TOS is actually trying to boot.. I think...

I have noticed something else.. I haven't buffered MONO output from the shifter.. so hi-res monitors may not work...

I agree this is the main reason for me getting the board too.Forgottenmyname wrote: 17 Sep 2018 19:39 See, I learn something new every time I turn this board on, which is one of the reasons I got it 8-)
I am getting 15.6kHz and 50Hz out of the Glue. It initially is 60Hz then immediately goes to 50Hz as mentioned by Troed.troed wrote: 17 Sep 2018 19:28Assuming you have a PAL TOS, that means TOS didn't execute and/or the machine is being kept in RESET. One of the first things it does is to set 50Hz.
It does mean GLUE is working as it should :D

That means ... *drumroll* ... that you have TOS execution. Lots and lots of instructions have done what they're supposed to :DIcky wrote: 17 Sep 2018 20:26 I am getting 15.6kHz and 50Hz out of the Glue. It initially is 60Hz then immediately goes to 50Hz as mentioned by Troed.

Seeing this I thought I would switch the board to my mono adaptor to check and got no signal on the monitor. At first try it seems as you mention that hi-res is not working.exxos wrote: 17 Sep 2018 19:54 I have noticed something else.. I probably didn't bother with it much on this version as RGB output was more the thing to be tested,, A buffer could be added as a addon easy enough if needs be, but think its not really important right now :)Icky wrote: 17 Sep 2018 23:06 Seeing this I thought I would switch the board to my mono adaptor to check and got no signal on the monitor. I've modded the next schematic ...
This could be built, but would need the track cutting for MONO pin from the shifter, or pin bending up...
IMHO not to important right now.. but its simple if anyone wanted/needed to do it.
Bottom layer track..

Great work. Mine is still on a black screen with sync issues even after the patch. I am going to check out the soldering etc a bit more and also try a different SIMM as it might be duff.
