So I figured out which points on the backplane expose the up/down links in my topology diagram. I knew they were exposed there, just had to identify them exactly.
Unfortunately the pins are too short to attempt wirewrap so I just soldered them.
Two boards now installed on the backplane:

Nice, is there a link to that at all please?dml wrote: Thu Oct 01, 2026 9:24 amIt seems like we're not in short supply right now
A contributor on the ATW800 channel has actually done this (running a very very tiny model, on the root Transputer) as an experiment.

They're only 20MHz - but each one (each CPU) has a pretty fast FPU and 4MB of RAM, which is nice!

Re: Supercomputing adventures with a MegaST/4
At this rate, you aren’t just going to render some B5 on it, you’ll end building an Atari ST-based Unity competitor for real-time rendering scenes to drive a virtual production LED video walldml wrote: Sun Sep 27, 2026 1:51 pm I think we completed bullet 1 on plan list 2:
next part should be:
- make code run on it <----- we are here
- escalate things in all directions
- render some Babylon 5 on it
That means we unlock the escalate-things step! Now there's two of them.
I need to figure out from my notes which tie points will get them talking. Time for some wire-wrapping....
