Looks from that connector to be the same as mine, which is a Hwfly Lite v4, the one you linked to earlier in the thread.alexh wrote: Tue May 21, 2024 3:49 pm You have the flexible cable upside down. It folds back on itself.

I think it's more a case of the cable is supposed to be bent in the middle somehow after looking at the images @alexh linked to. Gonna have another look later but need to pack my work stuff up ready for my office day tomorrow, then I'm off training...stephen_usher wrote: Tue May 21, 2024 3:47 pm Maybe there are different top ribbon cables depending upon the board revision?
Will try to look later this evening.

Yeah. looks like you solder it to pads with it with the connector facing right and then bend it over to connect the power, ground and possibly another connection. Could they have made it more complicated and difficult? Not sure.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Yeah, it's really quite a tricky job compared to the CPU connector. I 'think' I have figured it out from the pic, but not 100%.stephen_usher wrote: Tue May 21, 2024 4:59 pm Yeah. looks like you solder it to pads with it with the connector facing right and then bend it over to connect the power, ground and possibly another connection. It's not as tricky as it looks. And once you've laid it out you should see how elegant the solution is. It is all because they didn't want to have multiple layers in the film.

As it goes I just had a closer look, and TBH it is certainly doable though requiring quite a steady hand!!!alexh wrote: Tue May 21, 2024 5:52 pm It's not as tricky as it looks. I'm not going to do it on the working switch, I have almost all the parts to get a 2nd Switch up and so providing I can do that, it'll go in that one.

Re: Exxos will like this colour of Switch Lite :)
Well.
The SD card slot finally stopped working on my Switch Lite, so I ordered a new one, and now I'm sitting looking at it all and wondering why we need 0201 sized resistors because no matter how hard you try, they seem to just jump off the board at a moments notice...
This is where I'm at...
Just so super small my head hurts... At least they are back on and I can look at the SD card slot again...

While you have it on the bench like that you could fit a hwfly/picofly modchip? They are about £8 on AliExpress.

Well it's back together, but slowly dying.
SD card and now the game card reader have decided to go bye bye too.
It was pretty beaten up when I got it, so at least it had a slightly extended life, and I've managed to find a cheap replacement.
Fingers crossed that'll be here in a few days.
