Well I looked it up online and it said it'll do CDRs so I'll try one and let you know the outcome.PhilC wrote: Thu Dec 29, 2022 5:53 pm @rubber_jonnie i think you’ll need the modchip for copied cds? That cart does region free etc. of course I could be wrong and now don’t need a mod chip in my Saturn

Yeh it'll work as long as you burn an EU region disc. You just won't be able to burn USA or JP discs.
Re: Whoops I did it again - Sega Saturn inbound
You should be able to play JPN and US (but they will be at 50Hz if console is not region moddied).
I originally converted an Action Reply to a Pseudo Saturn cart then to Pseudo Saturn Kai:
https://ppcenter.webou.net/pskai/
You did need to patch CDRs (included in the download), not sure if that is still a requirement.

Well it ran the Unreal tech demo just fine
So that's a good start, downloading and testing some more images next.

Re: Whoops I did it again - Sega Saturn inbound
I downloaded Sega Ages 1 (Europe) and Space Harrier (Japan) to test and they ran just fine. I'll test properly with some US stuff tomorrow, but so far no patching required, this may change the more I burn images.
Space Harrier is also on Sega Ages, but I wanted to test a Japanese version with the PSK and so far so good. I'll test some US stuff today hopefully.
I have to say that the Sega Ages compilation, with Afterburner II, Outrun and Space Harrier really took me back to the arcades I used to haunt back in the day. Space Harrier was the first motion cabinet game I played and boy did it make an impression. The second was Afterburner.
The Saturn versions do not disappoint despite the lack of a motion cabinet

Re: Whoops I did it again - Sega Saturn inbound
@rubber_jonnie thats really good news. I’ll leave the mod chip where it is for now though
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.
Re: Whoops I did it again - Sega Saturn inbound
Oh yeah you have one of those pseudosaturn cartridges, they make the Saturn region free don't they.

Yeah, really pleased with the results, don't think I'll bother with 50/60hz mod for now.PhilC wrote: Fri Dec 30, 2022 11:57 am @rubber_jonnie thats really good news. I’ll leave the mod chip where it is for now though![]()
Got a whole bunch of games to burn when I get home later.
