Great stuff! Glad you’re making progress with my dusty cast-offs mate. Looks like a nice clean machine all round.

Yes it looks to have been well looked after. Next ill upgrade the ram to 4mb and then get rid of the case yellowing.JasonS wrote: 26 Oct 2025 13:53 Great stuff! Glad you’re making progress with my dusty cast-offs mate. Looks like a nice clean machine all round.

Which RAM upgrade will you be going for @PhilC?
One of my 2 Mega's has an unusual memory upgrade that blocks access to the Megabus connector so I've plumped for the exxos
version (in case I want a second ATW800/2 at some point)...
I'm sure you will get to upgrade yours before I start...

I've got plenty of ram chips that should fit but in my other Mega I put the MMu mounted ram expansion in and it works perfectly, so might do that again.JezC wrote: 26 Oct 2025 14:10 Which RAM upgrade will you be going for @PhilC?

@JezC just ordered one from exxos, so I can test the ST536 in this Mega as well.
I'll leave the gold chips in for looks but will take the power off them.

Just been working on the Mega 2 that I was given thanks to @JasonS[/smention
But of an upgrade.
I've replaced the bus resistors, changed the PSU to a recapped one, upgraded it to 4mb but left the gold ram chips in as they look cool and am now using it to test the latest ST536 for @exxos.

Re: PhilCs blog / the latest things hes broken(fixed)
Slowly restarting the long list of retro tasks I have.
This made its way to the top today thanks to the last couple of chips arriving.
The plan will be to take a couple of parts out of my working 800 and then carry out the pokeymax installation on this motherboard. Then if everything goes okay, I'll put the Incognito into this one and then rebuild it into the 800 case. I'll then keep the original working motherboard as a good spare for the 800.
In other news, I managed to pick this up from eBay as non working and then got it fixed.
It's a BBC B+ motherboard. I'll likely swap this in to one of my standard Beebs and then have a play with it.
