It's very odd. I don't see anything else in the ram tests which are 306 related.

I will add instruction cache next but Hatari might not do anything. It may help on real hardware, but that's not running whatever 306 is doing. Even so its like 10x quicker by your accounts on 306 than 206. Other thank block size I don't know what else it could be doing.

@stephen_usher With vanilla 306 I cannot even see either ram test it just goes directly to desktop as well

@stephen_usher Are you able to test this one on TTram test speed? Or basically just compare both RAM speeds compared to TOS306..

Thought I found a good place to switch to medium resolution on boot up.. Only that obviously did not go to plan somehow

or maybe @Badwolf viewtopic.php?p=95225#p95225 (it should enable instruction caches now) *HOPE* that will fix the slow issue.. if not.. I give up :)

Careful with that. Lots of floppy-booted games don't bother to change res. PITA with EmuTOS on Falcon.

I'll give it a go to check if the cache is enabled, but I can't measure the speed differential (for reasons previously stated :) )

Thanks. I'm slightly confused if it is making a difference or not in Hatari. I cannot really do anything else but enable the cache anyway. So it is pretty much end of the road now either way.

Runs the same speed as before, but yes, CACR is now set to 0x3111 (both caches enabled). This seems odd to me (why data cache when testing memory?) but it's like it under TOS3.06 and I suppose if you're scanning everythign once the cache will miss all the time anyway.

So this ought to be faster on the real hardware.
