Re: The Cosmic Puppet's Universe.
The ISEQ program is similarly affected:
Original:
EmuTOS 1.1.1:
Note the difference in the dividing lines (same as on Notator) and the shape of the filled in target notes on the grid.

Re: The Cosmic Puppet's Universe.
If the above stuff bothers you, then you would hate Steinberg Avalon.
IIRC the version I tried changed the system to use what seemed to be a Mac like font/display.
I'm loving all these old obscure/hobbyist ST MIDI applications. That's something that has been largely forgotten nowadays. I'm glad someone is still keeping the flame alive!
The only thing I found for the PC that's close (from an interesting point of view), was on an old (1993?) issue of Future Music, they had some experimental spectral manipulation software and reviews, with one of the demos from this on the CD. It was of some bees(!)
It was the sort of precursor to the Celemony Melodyne FFT pitch transformation software that is used today. Can't remember all the details though, as it was ~30 years ago! :o Maybe I should look it up again.
Even still, the PC still doesn't have the broad range of quirky MIDI apps that the Atari had.

Re: The Cosmic Puppet's Universe.
I had a similar thing when I had to use NVDI. I switched out the ASSIGN.SYS file from somewhere else (can't remember where) and this fixed the problem. NVDI isn't needed on EmuTOS 1.0 onwards as the Notator menu lag is sorted.mrbombermillzy wrote: 30 Oct 2021 13:03 If the above stuff bothers you, then you would hate Steinberg Avalon.

I follow this guy Adam Neely and he's shown some crazy stuff on Ableton. I just want to try and keep things Atari. Hence finding useful software that can output its MIDI (or using my keyboard to record the events)
Here's a fascinating video I just found about vibration from Mr Neely:

Re: The Cosmic Puppet's Universe.
Well, I've just checked GEM (1.0) on the PC and the dividing lines are the same as EmuTOS's. Given that the VDI and AES for EmuTOS are based upon the DRI source and not the Atari modified ones this makes sense.Cosmic Puppet wrote: 29 Oct 2021 23:42 Note the difference in the dividing lines (same as on Notator) and the shape of the filled in target notes on the grid.
I think that all the difference you are seeing are the changes Atari made to GEM.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

The graphics are the exact original if I run Notator on EmuTOS 1.0.prg
Notator graphics altered on EmuTOS 1.1.1.prg (3D Objects disabled)
Same with 3D Objects enabled.
I'll keep running this for now to see if anything breaks. So far everything is functional.

N.B. Changes that Atari were allegedly forced to do due to some fruit named company thinking it looked too close to their OS. ;)stephen_usher wrote: 31 Oct 2021 14:09 I think that all the difference you are seeing are the changes Atari made to GEM.
