As soon as I scrap a machine and put the parts in the store, they go. If I had some I would offer them for the cause, but most of my machines have been stripped these days :( It would probably be cheaper to get them off evilbay as complete machines than get some from brad. Though the prices just got insane lately.. Will refrain from the rant about all that :)

You two had better start collecting shifters then. :D I'm not even sure it's viable to produce this board in any sort of volume with the lack of the earlier ST shifters around.

I've had to pick up a shabby STF machine that didn't work (STs aren't cheap anymore) and PRAY that the previous owner didn't fry the machine, or drop it in the bath or whatever, so at least the shifter works.
I have a spare shifter waiting patiently 8-)

There is plenty of room in a Mega, so should fit without any problem.
I take note of your interest. I prefer to wait to have some results first, though.
Thanks sporniket !

I think I have one somewhere in my spare parts.

I'm very interested in this project too...and have the Mega STs plus the H4/H5 boards as possible candidates.

I should have the odd 'spare' shifter amongst my collection but the H4 & H5 builds have used up some of them. Guess I need to fault find a few of the non-booting STs to check what is wrong...

No rush on my side, way too many other projects on the go just now.

@JezC , your interest is noted.

I got the component yesterday, so I am slowly building the prototype for @mrbombermillzy from now.

The most annoying part : take care to put the marking of the values on the top...

@sporniket That's great news.

I have a couple of NOS shifters coming from the US, to match the two different ones I have. Will test both pairs once I get it working. (No need to borrow any now! ;) )

I've also re-purposed my TT 16 colour bmp display code for this project (which is 90% finished ATM). Should have got it fully working by the time all the HW arrives. :)

Thanks...I have a few (working & non-working) boards with socketed shifters, so that might make this easier to test than some of my other projects/repairs!

Hoping all goes well with the prototypes!

I did all the passive, that's all for today.

Next session will happen in a few days, it depends on when I am on my own to setup my very little workbench...
