In the meantime, this arrived a couple of days ago.

It seems to be in reasonable condition and so far runs basic. I had to tweak the UHF modulator inductor to get a stable image on the TV but other than that it seems pretty good and the case although removed in this pic, is in a reasonable condition.

Not sure if I'll keep it yet or not as I already have a pimped out Atari 800 already.

When I first bought my Beeb, the only other computer in the frame that I was considering as an alternative was the 800...

Did I miss any posts on your 800?

I feel the need to see some pictures please!

Well I spoke too soon, the UHF modulator is playing up on the Atari 400, so I think I'll probably just do a composite mod on it and be done with it.

I was a bit more patient with the modulator and after a few tweaks it now works much better. If I keep the 400 I'll probably fit a Spectre AV mod to it but since they are over 30 quid and I might not keep it, I'll use it like this for now. That and the composite mod looks like a pain in the bum to do.

@rubber_jonnie I like my slightly battered 800 which doesn't get used enough but will do once I make the room for it. 800's are really expensive these days but I do have a 400 you could buy? :P

Yeah I wouldn't mind a 400, but I'd be thinking all the time of an 800...

I do have a 400 Mini :)

Wasn't that a play on words from Red Dwarf, Betty and Wilma?

If it was then it was done completely subconsciously, unlike my calculator thread, which I stole blatantly from Red Dwarf.
