Tried the firmware which is posted on page 1.
This maps stuff differently indeed.
But still no FM music and the memory issue seems comparable.

Now mapped 64kb on slot 3 vs 2 with original firmware. The other 64kb is mapped at the slot were the mem expansion is but this mem is gone then…. And the other mem is not seen by this testrom.. Is there maybe an updated firmware? I could not find it on the tf github.

Will send the tfmsx to the pico msx guy.

He will probably find the issue…

@terriblefire
Tfmsx is now at Jeroen he was wondering if he could potentially have a look at the source code if he found issues. Not sure what is handy. Maybe he could contact you directly somehow for discussing this. I can imagine that you also don’t want some strange guy fiddling with your code…

Right think i have spotted the issue.

CPLD always outputs high or low and thus the Cart cannot assert /WAIT. Its an easy fw fix but unfortunately i think its missing a pull up to let the CPLD go high impedance. We might need to graft on a pull up resistor.

Could you send the updated experimental Jed file to Jeroen? Including the resistor mod?

experimental jed here..

Resistor mod is just a resistor between 500R and 1K between Wait and VCC on the Z80

I've had feedback that this has fixed the issue. I suppose i should do a 2b version of the board.

As far as understand it from the Discord discussion the status is that the fmpac now works. The memory mapper does however not seem to work so always 64kb.
But the great news is that we can play Aleste with FM..
