I’ve messaged the person doing the bookings for the hall and have asked for Sunday 8th 10am till 8pm provisionally.

The cost for bookings is £25 per hour, so £250 for the 10 hours. There’s also a £100 deposit to be paid which I will pay.

It would be nice if we could all contribute towards the cost. I’m open to suggestions as to how we go about that as some may have better means to contribute than others but I would like to think that all would be welcome regardless of contribution.

I was actually thinking of a couple of competitions for the day, maybe a vote for the best computer and display, maybe a gaming competition? And maybe one for the best worst looking but working computer?

I know I absorbed the cost for the first even hall hire. However, it was (IIRC) around £150. £350 is quite a bill to foot for one person.

I suggest we bite the bullet here and sell tickets this time. What do you think? (Open question) Would others be prepared to do this?

Yep, definitely some sort of gaming competition this time. And a vote for best computer; both for attendees/exhibitors where the winner gets a prize. Im sure I can find a suitable one. Let me have a look in my back stock... :D

I will get the £100 deposit back after a successful room hire, so it’s just £250 in total required.

I’ll probably donate a prize of a C64 for one of the competitions, I mean, I have enough of them.

A suggestion would be £5 a ticket (needs 50 entrants). If we dont make it to 50 then see whos up for sharing the remainder cost?

When is the full payment due by?

Just heard back re booking the hall.

We can have the hall from 11am till 8pm on Sunday 8th October. I’ve got to fill in a form and then send a payment for £300 which is a £100 deposit and £200 hall hire. I’ll do this next week.

So just to finally confirm, we are happy with the date, times, location and cost?

As a reminder here’s the hall website.

Would you like any help with the costs up-front?
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Hi Stephen, I’m okay with that I think. I’ll pm you though anyway.

Good morning All,

This is just a very quick post to ask if any of you would like to be involved with the planning of the Cyber Legends event to pm me with your email address and what you think you may be able to help with.

I've got a few people involved already (thanks guys) and wanted to open it up to other willing people.

Thanks in advance

An other quick update.

I've paid for the hall this morning. I will be posting a proper topic on the forum soon with all the details and where we can talk about the event now that I've paid. I'll post this topic once I've had it confirmed they have received the money and that its all ok.
