The left one, an Impact 10000 was given to me by @Steve and wasn’t working but now is. The right one is an XZ with 384mb ram, 200mhz and was one I bought off of eBay to help me fix up the Impact.

So I did a bit of dry joint fixing in the PSU of the impact and took everything apart and reseated it and then put it back together.

Now what I’d planned to do was to get the scope out etc and see what voltages the XZ had on it during standby and then work through the PSU on the Impact and get that working.

Surprisingly the Impact went and booted up!

Anyway, I just need to get a 50pin SCSI HDD sorted for the impact and then it should be fully functional.
Very nice sir, I just love the colour of the Indigo, it's just so not biege :)

Good work getting it all up and running with Reanimator!

Maybe somethings gone wrong with booterizer? I used that to get my octane running and it worked ok, but this was a couple of years ago. If I need to do it all again I guess I’ll use Reanimator instead!

Regarding CD-ROM - a ZuluScsi works fine as a CD-ROM emulator, connected to the external scsi port.

Yeah, Reanimator just worked out of the box no problems and required very little setup. I do wonder if the version of Booterizer I had was corrupt or didn't get on with my RPi, but after hours of trying it wouldn't work, but Reanimator was quick and easy.

I had not been on the SGI forums lately, I saw today that someone made a new installer called "Love". https://forums.sgi.sh/index.php?threads ... ndows.949/ I have not tried this one, maybe someday when I am bored I will try it.

Reanimator worked easily enough for me but maybe this new one is easier.
