All right, I'm happy! Great job!

That's pretty cool, and in depth lesson :)
Something that didn't occur to me is TTL switching could be done at lower than optimum analog levels :)
Been scope shopping, wanting to see the best clock signal possible looking at ones that in reality are overkill for just this instance.
The current project Falcon (what one isn't?), noticed noise on just one channel. Not as bad as this example, which led me to think it was likely on the audio boost side, or possibly a connector. Performance isn't affected, haven't even bothered with it yet.

Have also used the 68K to ground resistor SDMA mod on Afterburner, going to have to digest your write up a bit with respect to that, I've usually just followed others examples and never actually seen what it does :)

Thanks for sharing all this valuable info :)

I have split out the exxos clock patch stuff into a new thread as it was getting way to off topic.

(sorry for digging out this old thread ^^)

I just wanted to confirm, that the additional 100K resistor also solved my sound crackling DMA/DSP issue here!

My Falcon had the same issue than @kohli79 according the sound crackling and red spikes in DMA2DSP.PRG.
The only difference here was, it took about 15-30 minutes before it started, depending if the Falcon was warm or cold.

Now, with that additional 100K resistor for the exxos clockpatch everything works fine now! :yay2:

Did some indeep test sessions of five and three hours with that test program. Tried ACE Tracker, MODs, demos, games, several MBs copying files etc. afterwards.
No problems, no crashes!

Another retro gem saved! 8-)
