I'm not aware of any potential conflicts. There isn't really much going on other than moving to a faster CPU and adding TT ram.

Though NetUSBee is renowned for having all sorts of weird problems by itself. There are all sorts of threads on the forum here of people doing patches on it. So may be worth looking into that...

will do thanks - now hitting problems getting NVDI to load for some reason but will keep on fiddling, I've no doubt done something wrong!

I don't have a NetUSB, but I have its ancestor (the Hydra) and *it's* ancestor (EtherneC). Obviously those don't have USB but they too can be a be flakey even on my 16MHz Falcon. The 50MHz one perhaps comes back to the card a bit too quickly sometimes and things stall a bit?

I think I've read some people had have trouble with NetUSB on the TT and my guess is it's the speed of the CPU too.

I'm not sure if the current production firmware lets you clamp the DFB1X at 16MHz with the OPTION jumper, but if it does, you could rule it out with that.

Thanks for the tips, I've unplugged for the time being to just focus on getting one thing working at a time!

Fun and games with NVDI at moment, never had this before!

NVDI sorted - I must have missed a file when copying over to the Falcon

Couple of obvervations:

Is it FAST

Holding down ctrl or alt at boot doesn't appear to have any effect
It takes a lot longer to change screen resolution that is used - probably an additional ten seconds - far from a huge problem just wondered if anybody else had come across this - I'm using the blowup s/w with the 3 in 1 vga adapter

Cheers,

Simon

It takes a lot longer to change screen resolution [than it used to]
I've never seen any of those symptoms, no.

Thanks for the help and tips, I’ll start a new thread on the NetUSBee stuff, found a potential solution which I’m hoping to try tonight.

I never got the USB portion to work on the Falcon with both the USBEee and the NETUSBee. HDDriver recognized the USB hub but not the USB memory stick.

The NET part works great though with the latest uiptool. I copy files on the Fakcon that way. My NETUSBee doesn't work on the TT, no NET and no USB.
smoore100 wrote: 20 May 2024 14:55 Quick question, has anybody had any conflicts between the DFB1 and the NetUSB device?

I've tried a couple of USB sticks but they don't get recognised at boot up, although I can see the drivers are loaded.

When booted I can launch the USB utility and see the NetUSBee Root Hub, but again not the device itself.

Same with HDDriver, so I can't partition a stick.

Looks like it's back to using floppies again for the moment!
Feeling old yet?

The NetUSBee-lite (network only) doesn't work on my TT either and never has. Nor have any cards which use "write using read".
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Yep that's all I need - file transfers, I don't think there are any drivers that are needed for this either?

Then I'll have to dig out an ethernet cable, haven't used one for years!

Cheers,

Simon
