@rubber_jonnie do you have a floppy drive for your Apple as Well? Mine will come with a couple but no media, so just wondering on the easiest way to get stuff written to floppy from a PC or Mac.

I don't at present, but I have ordered a Floppyemu from Big Mess O Wires in the US and it is in transit. I have a floppy controller but don't currently know if it works until the Floppyemu arrives.

That way I can use SD cards to put images on and just boot like they are a normal disk or hard disk. I'd have thought maybe Greaseweasel might be the best option if you want to write to real floppies.

I did ask if they had UK suppliers, sadly not as the shipping was nearly $20 on top of the unit price.

Hopefully by the time you're buying it, I'll have reviewed mine 😁

Fingers crossed my home brew FDD controller that came with it works just fine then :)

I use an iPad and Apple II disk server (https://asciiexpress.net/diskserver/) to write floppies via the cassette port, it works well. I had less success with a PC but that will vary with hardware etc.

I did consider trying the cassette port and a spare tablet, but got enticed by the idea of the Floppyemu and decided to be patient. At least my AUX RAM card arrived before it, so I have been able to play with some other stuff, plus of course rebuilding my workshop.
