It begs to be linked

I performed the mod immediately, have not tested the disable function yet as my CD32 is currently connected to the TF360, but I did test with disable OFF and it did boot correctly in all the o30 glory so at least I did not botch the soldering job.

After testing the disable on the TF330 with terrible fire , we found that you do not even need a resistor as Steve mentions in that video, we can just bridge the two pins with a Jumper and it will disable the TF330 from the CD32 reliably, but you need the disable firmware also to do this, and it is best to make a fly lead with an on/on switch and hang it outside the CD32 for convenience

I have put the disable firmware below, only use if you know what you are doing otherwise ask for someone to do it for you

That sounds great but wait... does that mean no hardware mod was necessary and the may 2023 firmware was all that was needed all along ? I thought that had been tested and found not to solve the problem reliably ? Isn't that what Steve says in the video too IIRC ?

No you will need that Firmware I posted as Terrblefire tweaked it, I.E the Disable pin configuration

If one added the pull-up resistor already does he also need the posted fw update?

I have successfully updated and tested the On/Off function.

Had to whip off the resistor, add a 3rd wire to my switch then use Raspberry Pi to program the CPLD.

Oh and use the label printer to add an <- On Off-> label to my riser cover.

Cheers all

Hello everyone. I will soon receive a tf330 card (I can't wait ^^) and I made sure that the store installs the firmware "tf330r3_Disable_fix_21_05_2023".

Because I would really like to enjoy my original CD32 CDs without worries.

I still ask myself the following questions:
I saw that several firmwares boosted the performance of the Tf330. Does this firmware contain these improvements?

Another question: I would also like to make the exterior switch. I saw that there are 3 connectors to connect. Can you tell me exactly which pins I should put them on? THANKS !

Firmware has all previous fixes so it is good to go

Regarding the Switch, it is a on/on switch so it is self explanatory ,the switch will have three connectors, so middle pin ( is the Shared connecter on the switch) will go to the Bottom left pin nearest the IDE connector ( this is looking down on the TF330) the other two connectors does not matter, just put one to the bottom right pin and the other to top left pin
Just study my pictures of the jumper positions and this will give you the correct connections

Return to “TF330”
