Finally got the keys to the new place at 19:30 this evening. What a nightmare it has been getting here and still I have no stuff as its coming out of storage and will be arriving Wednesday.

I could go on and on about all the crazy utilities company conversations I have had including the broadband to transfer or move over. I think the world has gone crazy in a scripted manner to a point I managed to get them tied up in knots to get out of extra charges etc. for a few of them.

But I have the keys and we will be in before Christmas.
Congratulations!

After 3 months in a rental before moving into our new place, I fully understand your feelings of joy on finally completing.

Hope you have a fantastic Christmas in the new place 😁

Thanks @JezC, @rubber_jonnie, @PhilC, @derkom, @stephen_usher, and @exxos.

More battling with utilities companies today and trying to work out how a biomass boiler works finally got it fired up just before midday.

Is that one of those things where you dump dead bodies into to heat your house ?

Bit of a messy way to heat the house there @exxos but will keep that one in mind if it's too cold :D

@Icky body fat has a reasonably high calorific valve, so feed them up before bumping them off.

First house of horrors last night in the heavy rain.

Turns out a slate title has slipped and there is a hole in the roof and water started coming in.
