The NC100 definitely makes for a portable solution!

If you do get one, be increadibly careful opening and closing it. The plastic on mine has become extremely brittle and the strong springs which snap the clamshell open and closed have shattered the plastic. Thankfully I've hacked it back together. The plastic degradation has also fused the screws into the plastic so there's no way of dismantling the machine without the case destroying itself.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Re: Amstrad NC100 - No power repair
Hi,
I got an Amstrad NC100 from eBay, the seller said it did not power up.
On examining the power section of the board the fuse had not blown.
I noticed that the ROM chip had pin 17 crushed an not connected to the socket. So I straightened IC Pin and refitted the ROM chip.
All working now...
