Nice! There really should be some kind of documentation, tutorial or example on how configure cards with isa_bios. Or better yet some kind of GUI application but for now it's a just the configuration file and looking at the perhaps a bit cryptic log file.

I was thinking about the IDE port. Are there rigid pcb's available that acts like a cable or would it make sense to make such a small adapter-thingy? Basically to mount the CF adapter right onto the motherboard without a flexible cable in between.
The Amiga people seem to have a few of these but the ones I saw were all putting the other end at right-angle which is less than ideal for space reasons.

I didn't think of it much since I always had it in my mind to cable to the CF adapter on PCI bracket, though I temporarily used this hackjob before the motherboard was cased:

You mean a non angled one.
You can buy those just did not put it in yet. Looks indeed much tidier.

Just received this from Atarian Computing! Thanks! Only 2 days from Finland to UK with no import fees!
It will be a project for the winter i feel and I will need to save for the components order 😀

@agranlund Does an EC 060 work at all with the Raven? (forgive me if this has been mentioned before)

Looks MMU is needed so it rules out the EC 060's. I'm sure Anders will confirm!

Ok, I guess I'll cross my fingers and hope the EC I have has a working MMU. I heard rumours that some do.

You also need one which is capable of running around 100mhz. Not all versions are compatible.
You still can probably find a compatible LC for a good price. So somewhere around 100 - 50 euros.
But it will have issues as some software probably needs recompiling as it assumes an FPU or maybe a soft fpu will be available in the future.
But issues could also be fun if programming and fixing stuff is your cup of tea.
Best is to get a rev6 full but that’s indeed problematic. So pay 400 euros or know somebody who knows someone…

But there a lot of fakes out there as well.

060 is really cool but a full one is very expensive as everyone wants one and people are building lots of nice hardware projects with it especially on this forum.

Short answer is nope, the whole design is based around an MMU being available.

The longer answer is, well, yes, all the things on the motherboard will work and it will still be a computer that you could use for computery stuff - provided software was written to make it do whatever you want it to do. The very first line of code executed by the CPU at power-on would basically be whatever you wrote yourself. That'd still be quite a neat general 68k platform for bare-metal type programming, OS development / porting or things of that nature, but a programmers toy mostly.
Someone could possibly port EmuTOS to it MMU-less too, and it could be a GEM box capable of running 100% clean applications.

But my target use case was always for something somewhat Atari compatible so the existing bootrom code is for that purpose and the MMU is a big part of making it possible.

Well I have more parts on order, including a full 060 and a Picogus. Probably a good month or two off of being able to do anything productive to help you guys out but what I'm seeing so far is some great work, making me look forward to when I'll be able to get round to pressing the on switch on my Raven.
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.
