I don't know why I like that as much as I do, but i do!
Edit: Hey, that's post number "1040" for me. :girldance:
'cause it's cool!
I love the idea of using both old and new.
I've tidied up all the cable routing and ordered another aerial.
It's been a long road setting this up. First box was a dud. Also had to get a barrel adapter for the end of the power plug I bought. Been a bit of a nightmare.

This one has a Philips tuner in it rather than an unbranded, and IT WORKS!

My Digital Receiver had no power supply but had 1.2A MAX written next to the barrel socket:
Is this the right approach or could I have gone with higher amps?
Would the TV box fry itself or would it 'know' what's going through it?
It should be OK, but IMO I would go with a 2amp PSU. As they never normally give the full output of what they quote. Plus your box saying 1.2A you should take with a pinch of salt as well. It could be a bit higher . Nothing wrong with giving stuff a bit of headroom, you could use a 5amp one with no troubles either.

Thanks Exxos. I was worried about frying the TV BOX. The adapter does get quite warm.

Its probably running on its limit. PSUs generally really start suffering efficiency wise generally after like 75% of its rated current for example. I guess a general rule would be go with 1amp higher than you actually need.

Would this 2.2A one I'm currently (no pun) looking at be a good choice?
Don't want to go higher than I need with energy coats an all that lol
*edit* will have to go with the 2A one as the barrel plug is the same so I know my adapter will work.
