They showed it off last year at Sommarhack: https://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.p ... 25#p466225
That confuses things even more. Some other ST booster now.. What happened to BUFFEE?! pistorm et al.

Anyway, SV3 now? Sounds like they want to use a off the shelf FPGA board now.. Understandable, but the speed the stuff seems to go off market thee days, I'm not sure it's a good idea to be locked into some Dev board.

But it suggests a production of SV1 might be a bad idea if its obsolete and likely not supported by nature anymore..

I believe the developer very much over-estimated their abilities / free time. The hardware design was done, the only thing to do was the JIT. I imagine it became far more complicated than they thought it would be?

Or it could be that the chip they intended to use went out of production? It needed a very specialised ARM SoC.

PiStorm32 lite + Emu68 + RPi4 took them by surprise?

The Amiga A1200 PiStorm package became very cheap and very fast with lots of features. For roughly £68 for the board & £33 for the RPi you get 1800MIPS 680x0 with FPU + RTG + 128MB FastRAM + Ethernet + Wifi + fastest ever HDD.

I pre-paid for a Buffee but nothing was ever delivered. I emailed nonakitten a few times asking for an update but was always spun a load of excuses and waffle, so I gave up. Iirc it was £100 or so down the drain. Oh well!

I can’t add anything to the SV debate but I would absolutely join the queue to buy a new one should it be developed! An SV for my falcon has been a dream for a number of years :)

AFAICT the source code for Supervidel remains proprietry and unavailable.

I think I'd want to know any builder had access to the original HDL before I handed over my cash.

Mind you, that's moot as I don't have a CT60 :P

If you manage to licence/make the SuperVidel, please count me in for one.

I did ask nature about making a run myself. Since they are making a new version they suggested to wait for that (as already mentioned in this thread). That said it's not certain if it'll ever see the light of day, so convincing them to make some as-is would be positive. Even better with a few small fixes for the known issues.

Yeah that's what I thought earlier as well that if version 3 in the making, they are probably not interested in the original version any more.. That's another problem..
