There goes plan B! I can probably buy one locally, if worst comes to worst.

The socket wouldn't be as useful as you might assume, because I didn't bother to buy a MAX238. Heh.

I'll make sure your HDMI shifter board has normal header pins looking at your shifter socket :)Smonson wrote: 07 May 2020 13:04 I've done all the mods apart from the 470-ohm DMA resistors one. I've got the only socket on there that really matters: the one for the shifter.

Re: Smonson's slow H4 build
Heh thanks. I decided to switch to headers after the 1000th time unplugging the shifter. I have my real shifter on an adapter board with long pins now. Feel free to leave the pins off entirely if that makes it easier to send in the mail.Icky wrote: 08 May 2020 00:18 I'll make sure your HDMI shifter board has normal header pins looking at your shifter socket :)

No wonder I couldn't find it, I wasn't looking for a needlessly gigantic cardboard box.

I got this 22-degree-angle socket from aliexpress. Just a couple of millimetres too tall for the metal shield to fit over it, unfortunately.

You're not going to get away with that in a group filled with a sufficient number of nerds. That quote is from The Firm's song "Star Trekkin'", not from any actual Trek. :ugeek:
