Well I wasn't careful enough when clicking the order button on Mouser... received 100 0201-sized capacitors. I can barely even see them. I have a few but not enough the right size. Why, when I search for 0603 do they show me 0201? I know metric/inch are confusing here but annoying to learn the lesson this way.
Any reason not to just 1uF 25V caps in their place? They all appear to be for decoupling.

A MLCC 1uF will do the same job really. Yeah.Aeberbach wrote: 23 Sep 2021 06:09 Well I wasn't careful enough when clicking the order button on Mouser... received 100 0201-sized capacitors. You have to solder while holding your breath :-)
And you have to drink a lot before soldering so that your hands do not shake ;-)

Hello all just checking that this puppy just needs the usual 5v & approx 20 milliamps of juice to programme outside, like the other TF cards.
Just checking before I let out the magic smoke
Many thanks.

Looking at 0201 I’m scared of even inhaling.

Just finished it and no time for a proper memory test yet but RC1 firmware flashed and it fired right up. I’m really liking this design. The enable 030 jumper looks perfect for running a switch to disable when things really don’t work with a faster CPU.
(And my capacitors were 0805; slightly harder to solder on 0603 pads but it worked.)

Strongly recommend choosing the assembly option to people. They'll do all that birdseed for you. Good to hear you have it up and running :)Aeberbach wrote: 25 Sep 2021 11:17 Just finished it and no time for a proper memory test yet but RC1 firmware flashed and it fired right up.
Just put together a custom 31 ROM with the eide.device included. Now the IDEs on the TF1230 & 1260 work straight-up no other boot device required. Not a difficult process, and there are number of tutorials available.
I did notice the 1260 boots quite a bit faster than the 1230 using the latest eide.device.
