I've been following the whole board development in general and this thread in particular pretty much since the start; impressive work all around.
I am burning with one question; could test some demo footage with fullscreen/spectrum 512; Im REALLY interested to see how much of a perfect compatibility this new board would give!
Kind regards,
Wietze

Re: Icky - Progress
As it's using all the original chips, just replacing the integration between them, there will be no difference.wietze wrote: Sun Oct 07, 2018 5:29 pm I've been following the whole board development in general and this thread in particular pretty much since the start; impressive work all around.

Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Re: Icky - Progress
I can confirm it behaves as per original STFM during demos. As Stephen mentions the machine is a modern integration with original chips.stephen_usher wrote: Sun Oct 07, 2018 5:48 pm As it's using all the original chips, just replacing the integration between them, there will be no difference.

Tried this patch on the board with no change. Still not seeing floppy drives when HDD plugged inIcky wrote: Sun Oct 07, 2018 9:59 amI'll give that patch a go to see if it fixes the problem. Need to test Megafile on STFM though first to make sure it is behaving correctlyexxos wrote: Sun Oct 07, 2018 9:54 am I've actually had the problem recently with when hard drives were connected the floppy drive would stop working.. was a bugger to find..but...

Bummer, so will have to diagnose that one when my board comes then.Icky wrote: Sun Oct 07, 2018 7:24 pm Tried this patch on the board with no change. Still not seeing floppy drives when HDD plugged in
Re: Icky - Progress
Got a email saying its almost done.. hopefully tomorrow...
Re: Icky - Progress
Can you guys check the pull-up on /DRQ , just in case
Pin 1 of U51 -> pull-up -> 5v
I also check the STE and MSTE schematic and the DMA port is fully buffered there as opposed to the STFM. Might be something to add on the next rev.
Also the INT pins from the DMA and FDC are going through some 74LS02 to be combined into one int signal to the MFP instead of being hard wired together on the STFM .. could help make things more stable (in the future).
Working ones : MegaSTE (68020) / TT030 / Falcon with AB040 & Eclipse / 1040STF
Need testing : Falcon with CT2

Pull up is in RP1.
