Fingers crossed for the next steps.
I also took the opportunity to fit a PLCC dummy from @exxos - after filing it a bit - in the dual MEMC1a adapter of my 8MB RAM expansion, thus proving that they can be also very useful in other machines

The adapter pins are stiff and won't probably be prone to bending, but it's best to be careful...
