I could replace all the jelly bean tantalums on the board and hope that it fixes things but there's no guarantee. If it is a tant then I just wish it'd die in a blaze of glory and get it over with.
Quite, at least you'd know where it was!

Joke: Boris Johnson has just released the Sue Gray report in full but has taken a leaf out of Eric Morecambe's book: It contains all the right words, but not necessarily in the right order.
Intro retro computers since before they were retro...
ZX81->Spectrum->Memotech MTX->Sinclair QL->520STM->BBC Micro->TT030->PCs & Sun Workstations.
Added code to the MiNT kernel (still there the last time I checked) + put together MiNTOS.
Collection now with added Macs, Amigas, Suns and Acorns.

Well, the ISA/PCI BIOS PST card has arrived. I'm not sure how much help it will be with the fault the M/B has, but it's a start.

The is the POST card:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334239539179 ... SwNANeVzME

The manual is in the best Chinglish and doesn't describe how to connect the cable supplied, which is for the speaker I believe.

I'm not sure what SW1 does, it may be reset.

I'd guess reset too for SW1.

Here's the demo of the POST card. S1 isn't reset unfortunately, I've no idea what it does, maybe nothing on the ISA bus.

The QS8888-20P has arrived at last. Well, actually it was a pack of 5!

I wonder if any of them work.
