Tried EMUTOS on the STE and that goes into a reset loop after the splash screen. TOS206 always starts resetting just as it gets to desktop. Though its odd it can load stuff off floppy like in the video.

I've played around and no idea what's up with it all. The only possible clue is the diagnostic cartridge says I8 exception error, whatever that means.

I can't find any reference to I8 in the STE, or (ST or Falcon, since I was checking) service manual. Maybe a later introduction?

How are you connecting this? Is the onboard CPU removed?

I looked through the whole lot, I could not find it either.

TF536 is on a DIP to PLCC adapter, plugged into the STE CPU socket.

Ditto!

This is where EmuTOS could be more use again, though. You say it can boot from floppy? We could do you an EmuTOS PRG version with debugging turned on in various modules. If nothing prints on screen (or it vanishes into reset before you can read it), it could be rebuilt to spit out over serial.

ROM even better as then the PC can be directly interpreted, but unless you've any PLCC44 EPROMs, that's not really an option.

EMUTOS running from ROM resets just the same... but TOS206 and ET run fine on my H4..

I might be able to run ET from the AUTO FOLDER on the floppy.. that seems to work, just can't get to desktop.

We'd need to guess which module to put the debugging output in.

In your ROM version, you said you can see the splash screen. If you hit escape there (to go to the CLI) does it reboot before you get the user prompt?

It pretty much resets after drawing the splash screen.. I don't think I will have chance unless I frantically press escape whole time... Give it a try anyway...
