Composite mods are relatively simple on the 2600 Jr, both of mine have them and I'm waiting on a CleanComp for my Light sixer. Great little console.JezC wrote: 06 Jul 2025 19:00No, I only have one cart to test it with initially...but will see about a video out mod of some kind once I've got a working setup in the first place...mrbombermillzy wrote: 06 Jul 2025 18:56
Just dont initially test it with a Bezerk Enhanced edition cart! :hide:

Re: Life, the universe & everything...Atari (well, mostly)
So, I've now finished working after taking early retirement after a little over 21.5 years with my last company. Very happy with the prospect of more time to do lots of other things but also a little sad to be leaving a great group of colleagues & friends.
My immediate plans to start spending a lot more time on my hobbies (music ^& retro computers etc.) has been delayed by other (family) matters but I'm hopeful that by the end of November I might start to make inroads on the backlog.
I think the first task will be to open topics for the many upgrades/refurbs/fixes ahead...and to sort through the collection of electronics in my study to get a list of which projects can be started ant=d which will still require additional parts to be ordered...
One other conversation with a member of our IT team (a keen Amiga user in the past) touched upon a new board to allow the custom chips from a damaged system to be moved into the new board...but all I picked up was something about Denise (which even I know is one of the custom chips - graphics & sprites?).
I've seen the recreations of the PCBs but I thought this was a bit different - does anyone know about these? Or was it my misunderstanding his point?
I'm asking because the A500+ with battery damage is one of the projects to attempt at some point but I'm happy to have a backup plan should the damage be beyond repair.

So, I'm now into my 3rd week of retirement but still not had any hobby time yet :(
Hoping that will change towards the end of this week so I need to organise a clearer space for working on the projects...but which one to start with?.....

Then you're doing it wrong :dizzy:JezC wrote: 18 Nov 2025 11:43 So, I'm now into my 3rd week of retirement but still not had any hobby time yet :(
Fingers crossed it will. I find it helpful to make a list and put it on the forum, gives you some perspective and people will chip in with what they'd like to see.JezC wrote: 18 Nov 2025 11:43 Hoping that will change towards the end of this week so I need to organise a clearer space for working on the projects...but which one to start with?.....
Reminds me, I need to see what's on my list and still needs doing.

The list on the forum is a good idea @rubber_jonnie - I will have a think and start creating some placeholder topics for them.
I'm being 'advised' to focus on the remaining Christmas shopping by my good lady so I will see how I can merge those two tasks somehow ;)

Re: Life, the universe & everything...Atari (well, mostly)
So, close to 2 months into retirement and so far the only progress to report is a follow-up on the Mac G4 PowerPC...I finally had chance to power it up with a monitor and keyboard and mouse & it got to the desktop ok :D
So, thanks for passing that on @mrbombermillzy.
I've sourced a matching Mac keyboard and mouse already but given the price of monitors with the ADC connection I'll probably just stick with a generic VGA monitor for now.
I'll try to post pictures in a new topic soon...
Next is likely to be the Mac Mini...as I have found a similar working one to compare it with...
Still not managed to complete the list of jobs...

Re: Life, the universe & everything...Atari (well, mostly)
Glad it got home safely @JezC . :)
I did have some Mac keyboards and mice, but I think they are long gone and were actually Quadra era stuff anyway.
Random question:
When I was mucking around at CL4, someone was playing Danse Macabre on my SY85. :) Was it you?
