Well, although keeping it as near original as we can is desirable, I'm OK with you making some changes as needed to get it working & help to bottom out the clock patch situations.

We'll keep thinking.. Possibly I can link the 555 trigger directly to the reset switch with a pull up resistor and bypass the inverter so it would bypass that weird trace I am having issues with.

So if a quick way to progress is to have a custom reset circuit (at least for now) then why not give it a go?

Problem is I don't have one.. Id to have to design one and get one made specifically for your falcon.

It dertainly does sound weird...and doubly so since it was apparentyl working and ersetting OK during CL 4 (and on testing before heading down to the venue).

Yeah, it was working several hours here fine, then all of a sudden the reset issues started happening out of the blue.

@Badwolf I've not had a bath in years!
More in favour of a shower instead...but as @exxos already found out, my Falcon has some really sharp edges to her, so I don't fancy putting her in a bath of anything! ;)

I wonder if the cause of this fault has been around for over 20 years & was disturbed by the removal from the case & transport to the Midlands?

It was repaired by Atari Workshop back in the late 90s (audio crackling on recorded waveforms) I think it was... but hasn't had anything done to it internally bar fitting the DFB1X and swapping the original 60 Meg Conner HDD for the CF/SD cards I had for the CL 4 event.

I'll take the current state as a 'win' for now anyway - and hope that @exxos can now do what he wanted to with the clock patch investigations in the first place...

I'm very grateful for all the hard work that has gone into it so far (just none of it was expected! :headbang: ).

As I only have 2 weeks left in work, I'll PM you my home address @exxos & update the shipping details in the store for any future purchases...not that I have had any time yet to do anything with the booty from CL 4

Probably some old flux under a chip which has oxidised and become conductive. The IPA washed it away. I've had that before.
