Re: ST536 STE EDITION
First test pass.. This is great news!
Leave it on it on for the next few hours but that will probably all I will have time to do until next week now.

Re: ST536 STE EDITION
Its labeled on the firmware page.
Thismorning I thought I would try DOTT (just got blank screen) now its all unstable as hell. Might be a bad connection, but nothings changed since last night. Don't have time today to look deeper.
On TOS it locks up on TTram test now, I don't get it :(

Re: ST536 STE EDITION
I used the inverted clock firmware (which is what the ST536 did) and DOTT is now running. But it wouldn't run at all last night in that config.
There must be some odd thermal thing going on, where "when hot" it only works with the non-inverted clock, and "when cold" only works with the inverted clock.
It may help if someone can scope the SDRAM clock over the weekend.
On the next board I added in some series resistors on the clock as it was something I suspected (but not yet proven)
EDIT:
I'm also wondering if the original ST536 issues started when I added the ROM. I'm wondering if the extra track length albeit small, was enough to delay the timings enough to tip it over the edge
The buffers have 0.25ns delays, but the OE is more like 10ns which is a lot. I can enable the buffers all the time and use SDRAM CE instead but need to check those timings as well .

It's the best way I've found.Maximilian wrote: 03 May 2025 23:05 Nice way of delivering and dosing solder, have to try that one... thanks!
A lot do "drag soldering" but that doesn't work for me. I just end up with loads of shorts and bad connections. My way your literally brushing solder over the pad and pins with plenty of flux. I go over them multiple times to make sure good solder joints and no shorts.
I need to get a smaller tip for my solder paste, as I ended up with a bit to much overall. But was easily fixable anyway.

Re: ST536 STE EDITION
I've done some new firmware updates.
I've ran DOTT multiple times, TOS206 (my build) and EMUTOS, GB6, ran from IDE, ran YAARTTT. TOS206 ST/TTram passes and tests fine.
It tripped up once on DOTT, but after bashing thing about its been fine since. *might* have been bad connection on the CF card causing intermittent resets. But nothing tripped up so far....yet...... :hide:
