 I'll start Phil's tomorrow... I've got his STE as well, so I'll mix things up to see if every combo is stable.. Probably take a few days just for testing alone..

Have you also tested extensively with an ACSI device as mass storage? I only have a TF536 with Exxos TOS 2.06 and Fastram support, and I don't remember exactly, but I think rearranging the auto folder order with Xboot destroyed my hard drive, so I had to set everything up again. The same thing happens with a floppy disk. That doesn't happen with IDE, I think?

It was tested originally but there's a possibility original 206 and maybe maprom could cause issues viewtopic.php?p=44021#p44021

But the TF536 (Atari port, not by me) had a lot of issues anyway... I think only IDE works correctly . I fixed a lot in the ST536. Where I copied a lot between ultrasatan floppy IDE and didn't see any issues.. But there was a huge thread on that somewhere.. I found a bug in TOS206 with copying a lot of files which doesn't happen in 104...

STE536 I have used ultrasstan and always use floppy. More testing needs to be done yet.. A lot has changed from ST536.

Cap wasn't soldered properly.

Possible iffy joint.

Cap literally fell off  Maybe manufacturing defect there...

I had to replace your square as it wouldn't fit in my socket. Plus someone got the header pins to hot during soldering :P

No JTAG header :chairsmack:

Well @PhilC's board has invented a new EMUTOS crash screen! It was scrolling this crap!

Oddly it ran GB6 a full pass before it went nuts!

@PhilC Is your CPU a plastic pack one ?

EDIT:

Well this isn't right...

YAARTTT locked up on the first test after a few seconds. So got a little fan blowing on the CPU now.. I will probably have to try the CPU in my DFB1X test bed as I suspect it can't sustain 50MHz..

@exxos that's odd with the solder bridges as I checked them all but from above, not from an angle. I'll have to check from an angle too now.

And it now proves that my eyesight really has got bad since the op last year and that I shouldn't solder without my glasses on any more.

It is a plastic CPU but one that would do frontier demo or gembench all day long.

Oh and I told you I hate those header pins
If it ain't broke, test it to Destruction.

Lots of video accesses there though.. I could run GB6.. But YAARTTT would hammer the CPU at 50MHz when run from TTram.. likely tipped it over the edge. But even TOS206 doing RAM test is acting oddly.

Its on loop 2 of YAARTTT now with a fan.

Yeah, it's why I am trying to get them fitted at factory these days ;)

Aside from the odd TTram size, the STram bar is normally right the way across the screen, then halves to 2MB.. But yours only shows half the bar at the start of the test.. So even with a fan, something still isn't right.

@PhilC

But IIRC the DFB1X starts up in 8MHz.. but even so, it doesn't like being in the DFB1X at 50MHz selected.

I've put one of my CPUs in your board, and its still got the odd RAM amount at startup...

I think you got lucky with that short on the PLD because it was actually shorting out IDECS and IDEWAIT (IDEWAIT isn't used) .

Resoldered the headpins and now TTram is showing the correct amount!

I am still puzzled over the STram bar size though..

On all my boards so far TOS does this...

IMG_3232.JPG
IMG_3232.JPG (33.15 KiB) Viewed 2184 times

But in STEEM and @PhilC board it does this...

IMG_3231.JPG
IMG_3231.JPG (33.87 KiB) Viewed 2184 times

Anyone got any ideas why this happens ?!

EDIT:

I've put my own ROM into Phil's board and the bar has gone large again... Technically the large bar is wrong though I think...

I tried original TOS206 in a stock STE and I get the short bar. So possible something changed in my build of 206 and @PhilC has a bad/old copy or something.. dunno

EDIT2:

I burned a new ROM and the ST bar is the "expected" longer size now..
