Yeah i think a STM32 type setup would be great but as you say debugging would be difficult.

I think i might need 2 drives to boot? I tried this jumper setup but the thing just stops booting anything then

Sorry, I meant S1 on one and S0 on the other.
Definitely worth updating FlashFloppy on Gotek.

I think your now just hitting the SRAM not being configured. It's so integral to the X68K working (correctly).

Interesting, I had a feeling that I could not get Memtest to display on my 1942 and I had to use VGA screen as Memtest is at some high Res.

Regarding Mouse/Keyboard you guys don't need to create your own, this works well and is in a small form factor:

But I get the same issue from SRAM wipe disk. So it must be a disk issue.

After its running just turn the 1942 off and on and it syncs happily. It doesnt initially.

I couldnt get that immediately and we have several projects that do USB support with STM32 like the TFMSX.. so i was thinking to just hack something quickly with what i have.

I am looking at my Goteks with a clearer head.

Drive 0 - S0 and JC
Drive 1 - S1

No cable twist between Drive 0 and Drive 1

Had absolutely no joy with the Gotek's @Chrissy(?) sent me a couple of 5.25" disks to try so i'll give them a go later.

Also a 5 of the PCBs for this project turned up to today as replacements for my PSU.

3 are going spare if anyone wants one. I can divide the cost of the PCB order by 5 and add shipping. Its roughly a £5 per PCB.

You've had so something booting so that is a good sign. When I had major weirdness it was down to the SRAM. That configuration is really the life blood of the computer. On my Expert 2 it would load Human OS but then not Masterdisk and the text (dos style white on black screen) went 2x size!?!
I replaced the actual SRAM chips and it's been solid. I took it that it was powered on/tested with the Cap leaked PSU and it fried the SRAM. Maybe delicate chips like C64/Spectrums which can have RAM failure.

Anyway if you did got some of my Gotek images working, I will post some more up tomorrow (might be afternoon). As I could get somethings to boot even with fudged SRAM. Have you got the battery installed?

Don't go taking the PCB apart just yet, I am hoping it is just pesky SRAM gremlins

I've tried all of the above. Real 5" disks, Goteks and HxCs. Only memtest68k boots. I'd bet that that other game that guy got working will work too. Nothing else boots. Master disks sulk so do games.

I removed both 5" disks and cleaned the heads. @Chrissy sent me a Master disk and it just gets spat out again.
