Re: Alienkid H5 C1 build
Not far off now. Just need memory riser bits ;) as falcon memory module current hits psu.
exxos parts arrive :)...yay...Was expecting both mc68b50 chips to be the same :( exxos is killing my work of art ;) ha. A bit gutting. May try polishing one. But they are slightly different part nos.
Beauty :)

Re: Alienkid H5 C1 build
Midi ports added, 2 points on rear of board bridged.
Connected both centre buts beneath expansion port
Back in its home
New case top painted with less issues
Extra 12v lead connector ran from PSU for led strip
Still need a solution for standing ram up higher as still hitting psu, ordered a strip of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283290032728 ... 4155495048

Ah,. Mine (blue) misseses the PSU by a couple of mm. The black cat one is larger so it doesn't physically fit.
I would suggest you just get a simm socket as it looks like you're going down a world of pain otherwise..

Re: Alienkid H5 C1 build
I'm assuming you need to have the board all the way onto the pins at the back, i managed to get it on, with about 5 mm of the pins left showing.exxos wrote: 23 Aug 2021 19:58 Ah,. Mine (blue) misseses the PSU by a couple of mm. The black cat one is larger so it doesn't physically fit.

bit annoying really, can't even shave anything off the pcb :( as circuit is real near the edge
i've another falcon board but the sim is actually underneath, so that also wouldn't fit.
anyways, i get no video output yet, so i'm guessing its this.

Re: Alienkid H5 C1 build
@alienkidmj12 one option if you need to raise the Falcon RAM board height is to use longer header pins.
I used them on my ALPHA board to clear the PSU. You can just see the board on the taller headers in the pic below.
